Teagie

I have to brag. She last week discovered her feet, grabs at her toys on her swing and bouncy seat, AND discovered her thumb.. Still not sure how I feel about that last one. Great when she wakes up and pacifys herself back to sleep, but do I want it easy to take away a pacifier too? However tonite when she tried her thumb at Lowe's (while we shopped for appliances) she wanted nothing to do with the thumb and was M~A~D~~ !! So maybe it will all work out right?!! RIGHT?!!!

Flashbacks

Mike is leaving for three days this week.. did I mention this already?? Holy crap, I'm a little not ready LOL and all I can think about is how I holed myself up when he was gone with the boys... Kinda like a snow day, make sure I have plenty of milk, water, bread, and eggs!

This past weekend

So it was a busy fun filled packed weekend. Friday night was the induction dinner for MOMS Club where my friends and I had the changing of the guard from old board to new board. Our old prez, Angela, did an amazing thing by having some to the husbands write what in their eyes makes us a great mom. Needless to say there were sobbing tears of happiness in the room. It was a great night and good memories to cherish.
Speaking of memories! Saturday day/night Terri, Monica, Michelle, and I headed up to Scottsdale for our girls night out, my thank you too for my shower. We stayed at the Hilton Scottsdale Resort. Dani met us at the pool bar, we had been there for a few hours!, around 6 ish and then we headed to dinner at Flemings for some YUMMY food at 7:30. After dinner we finally made our way to Old Towne and hung out at Maloney's for MORE drinks and some dancing. We all had perma grin and had the most absolute best time.
Then in the morning we had some room service and just layed in bed. Not once was the T.V. on!! It definitely was re-energizing for the week. A Calgon weekend!! Now if only I got that foot rub in the morning ;-)

Happy 3 months Teagan!!

I can't believe our little girl is 3 months old today!
She is just sweeter than apple pie and so easy to be with. She wakes up, normally, to eat only once at night and goes right back out. She will go to sleep about 9 ish and it up with the boys around 6.
She loves to coo at her brothers and her daddy. She is "this close" ;-) to rolling over and likes to have a hand in her mouth if her pacifier isn't available. Her favorite position has been and seems to still be sitting upright looking out at the world so she can take it all in. She began laughing this week and it was at something one of her brothers was being silly about.
It has seriously gone by in a blink of an eye.

T-ball game (again)

Some great pictures of Caden from t-ball on this past Saturday. Now I have to give you more of an effect with him and hitting. He will measure up the ball and grip his bat all the while saying in a gritty deep voice "i'm gonna griipppppppp it and rippppppp it" !!! It is the most hilarious thing and we still don't know where he picked it up!! He is so serious about getting yard when hitting the ball!! All the kids were having a great time this past Saturday, the weather was amazing and they all were going after the ball!!

More t-ball

Pics of Teagan

These were a couple of weeks ago. Can you tell I'm a bit smitten by her ;-) She is really looking like her own person to me now instead of like Riordan or Caden...

LOTS going on!

Yesterday we closed on our house officially! KEYS in hand at noon ;-) Thank you Terri!! Now for making it a home..
The boys finished their first week of swim lessons and have improved a lot. Riordan mostly is not crying 90% of the time and goes to Ms Piper when it's his turn and he pulls him self out of the water. Kicking and showing off of blowing bubbles is what we are working on now.
TODAY is Mike and my anniversary!! 4 years, I just can't believe it. We have done so much in that time period it still makes me dizzy to think about it. Three children and five homes.
So today I had booked him for our anniversary, a spa day at Dolce on the mens side. He will get the works : massage, facial, mani, pedi, shave, shoe shine, and light lunch. He has been just working his bum off and it is finally paying off! FOR THE FIRST TIME for him he is already passed his production goal for the month and it's only the 15th!! This is great because now he is reaping all those appointments he has gone on since last year and proving to himself that we can make it out here. Couldn't have come at a better time with just buying the house too. I'm so proud of him.
Today the kids and I are loading up to meet floor people for measuring and then probably to Chick fila for some cool playing.
Tomorrow is t-ball and another flooring estimate, and then he and I are going to dinner at Drinkwater's City Hall Steakhousefor our anniversary.
Oh and ironically I asked Mike to rub my legs and feet last night after a fun game of bunco with my girls. When I woke up this morning, from our favorite Dolce, he had purchased me to full massages and two full reflexologies for my feet!! I haven't asked him to massage my legs since I had Teagan, so how funny was that!! I can't wait to book my appointments!

What a week!

we've been having already! We started swim lessons for the boys yesterday and it's Mon-Thursday this week and next. Our teacher, Ms. Piper, is a true bronzed beauty and has brains ;-) She really gets the kids attention, but has fun with them at the same time. Caden was impressive and did what was asked of him. Riordan didn't want to show off, he just cried for about 90% of the time. But it will get easier.
Last Saturday's game was yet another hit watching the kids play. It wasn't so hot this time and it was an hour later so I'm thinking it won't be so bad and mabye the two weekends before was an off weekend. As long as we are out in the morning!!
We signed the papers for our house yesterday. Arizona is different in that aspect, it take three days for the paperwork and lender payment to go through so our closing day is still the 15th. And instead of getting all your keys at signing we get them from our realtor. Also different about Arizona is flooring. I may have touched on this months ago, however, popular carpet colors are the brown family, no creams or whites, and tile for hard floors instead of wood in entry ways, hallways, kitchens, and even family and dining rooms. Most people like the convience of tile and laminate if they want a hardwood look and are taught that hardwoods are hard to up keep. With our experience with tile, that has been hard to up keep LOL it just looks dirty at the time to me and a lot of things break on it and it chips too easy.
So with that said, Mike and I have decided to really upgrade our house. New carpet everywhere, berber, and taking up the tile in hallway, kitchen and entry and replacing it with hardwood. We are going to replace all the appliances, they are standard no name appliances and some have wonderful dead bugs in them, so I'm digusted at that thought already. We already have to buy a new washer and dryer so I'm getting the ones I've always wanted and we will ALWAYS keep them along with our fridge, same one we had at the big house. Shutters throughout, ceiling fans (there is absolutely no lighting in this house and it's four years old), and change out the beat up brass hardware to a antique bronze. Would like to redo cabinets, countertops in both kitchen and bath, and lighting in the baths, but can survive it for a while longer. The backyard too will be put on hold. Not really using it right now since it's so hot. But we are hoping with all that, we will make our mark on it and it will feel like home.
Riordan has been having a tough week, his eye teeth are cutting. His left side top and bottom finally came through on Sunday. Saturday they apparently hurt so bad, that he was grabbing at the space for it. So I'm thinking since we had another tough day today with playgroup that they will cut tomorrow on the right side.
Everyone is asleep now and I'm off to make my friend, Kristi, a meal for her family. She had her baby boy, Cashton James ,on Saturday her DUE DATE ;-) I can't wait to see him!! Pork tenderloin, hashbrown casserole, and a salad and ice cream bars for dessert! Yummy I'm so hungry!

The latest

Teagan has her first ear infection and I just realized it this morning after four days of no sleep. You'd think I would have had it figured out before this morning! I could kick myself, as Dani said ;-), because a) wouldn't sleep for more the 30-45 mins day and night in her crib without waking up screaming, but would sleep in her swing/carseat for hours, b) has had a cold! and c) would cry during the day too for no apparent reason.
But in my defense the boys never ever had ear infections when they were infants. Caden just got his first one this year!
All I thought was maybe she was on a growth spurt because she wanted to nurse everytime she woke up, or that I ate beans on Monday night for the first time and it didn't work for her. So we probably could have been getting sleep sooner had I figured it out instead of literally walking around hanging from a thread from pure exhaustion. But it hit me like a lightning bolt this morning and I felt like doing the Homer duh! at that moment!
Speaking of lightning!!
We had the most incredible lightning show last night. Mike and I watched it from our room as 100 of bolts hit on and around the mountain and on the reservation. I would have taken pictures but it would have woken up the princess for sure.
Also, yesterday was the first day of Caden being a big boy and being tucked in and us leaving him to sleep. Naps so far aren't hard, but the nighttime darkness shakes him up a bit to be left alone while still awake. But he is so proud when he wakes up and loves bragging about being a big boy. I do too! It was hard though when he cries, it's so pitiful, it breaks my heart, and I just wanted to give up right away and crawl into bed with him.
Grannie comes in 6 hours!! Caden can't stop talking about it, he's so excited!

Our Fundraiser

We had a very successful silent auction Monday night for the 3-day walk.
We raised over $5400 which allows each of us to pretty much meet our goal! Which of course I want to go over now, it was just the minimum needed to raise, $2,200. It was from 6-9 and almost at 6 on the dot we had a pretty full house and it stayed pretty full until the end. We are ever so thankful to all the business that donated over $12,000 worth of merchandise!! Absolutely amazing and overwhelming and now that we have survived that we can really start concentrating on our training for the walk it's self.

Teagan Pics

Big smile from Teagan, Baby Fish Face, and happy Teagan ... I can't believe she is 11 weeks old tomorrow! I can't believe I thought she was 10 weeks tomorrow, 3rd baby goes by in a blink of an eye, just way too fast!!

Caden's first t-ball game!

What a week it has been running around doing league things. What was I thinking ;-) Luckily my friends are in this with me and very helpful.
Let's see though, I burned two holes in Caden's shirt trying to iron on letters, thank GOD I caught Dani and Marcie in time to not do the rest of the team! What a disaster that would have been. So I need to buy a new jersey. Waiting for an answer back on that one.
The day of the game was hot, but there was shade and it was pretty decent! We took the wagon for a place to sit and carry the boys in. Notice at pictures Megan and Riordan inseperable again ;-)
I forgot my camera, so I asked Marcie to take some of Caden.
She got some great pictures. The kids were so cute. We had 6 players and the royal team had 10 or 11 I think. It was a fun time! Next week I hope to remember my camera, and find the battery charger now too! Mom will be here for the game, so that should be fun too.

Daddy's work

Mike had a conference all week up in past Scottsdale, in Phoenix at the J.W. Marriott Desert Ridge. What a nice break it was! Our whole point of going up there was to spend time with daddy and stay the night.
The hotel had this awesome yard, yes YARD, where the pool and duckies were and the kids were running around like mad and rolling around in the grass with daddy. I had hoped from all the exercise they would have been worn out. After that we headed back inside to get a couple of cocktails and then came out on their patio where a live band was playing. The boys danced around and showed off, and Mike had a glass of wine and I had a pina colada! We headed back up to our room and did baths and rented Curious George ;-)
The room itself didn't swing with us. No white noise, my fault, and I always remember! And everyone was so over tired they couldn't fall asleep.
Then I forgot p.j.'s for both Teagie and I, and no clothes for the next day for she and I. Just when we thought we had everyone settled down, I gagged her accidentally with her paciand she threw up on me ...... So that made us throw in the towel! LMAO We just couldn't make it work so at ten o'clock we loaded everyone up and headed back home.
Caden thinks this is where daddy works and every morning he has woken up asking when we can go again. Me too! Because maybe if I bring white noise we can slumber in a cave and order room service again!

One more thing for Riordan

He discovered yesterday how to jump in the air! The look on his face was priceless!! So now I have a jumping Riordan, especially when music is playing! He's been trying to figure it out for at least a month now!

Hot is hot? What?!

So I'm gonna have to take back hot is hot!!
It's not! Where the heat in Atlanta with humidity is absolutely the worst and unbearable and I don't miss it one bit, the heat here is pretty hard to take as well!. We are well in to the 100's already, topping out at 106 with a promise of the weekend reaching 110. It won't stop there. 115/120 is very common here!. I have to say though even though it's hot, the morning's are still not so bad until 10 and once the sun goes down it's not radiating yet off the pavement like it did when we first moved here. Shade is still cool too thankfully!

Riordan

He has exploded with new words this week!
Yummy yummy yummy and lickle (aka tickle) lickle lickle
Papa, mommy, milk and duck!
Daddy is still Michael and sometimes Michael Malloy because Caden will say that being silly.
He's been saying hi teagggggieeeee is the highest pitch possible
and bye to everything and everyone. He barks like a dog for every animal he sees LOL He is really trying to say light and points out every light in the room upon entry no matter if he just left it one minute before.
He is a good helper too at his young age of almost 18 months. He likes to throw trash/diapers away and gets mad if he can't! He has changed so much to me in just a short two weeks, totally no baby left in him at all and just all boy.
I'm sure that's because Caden and he have discovered wrestling! They are so funny to watch rolling around on the floor and doing easy take downs. I ref it so that arms don't go around the neck and nothing like biting, hitting, or kicking happen ;-) Riordan can definitely hold his own! Looks like our words are coming to fruitition on that. We always told Caden one day Riordan will be able to fight back ;-)

Busy as a bee!

What a busy few weeks we have had. If you have sent an email, I promise it has been read, just having a hard time getting the chance to write back! LOL
This week has been preparing for Team Moms on a Mission Fundraiser on Monday night. Our silent auction to be held at La Casa Blanca, a mexican restrauant down the road. We have SO MUCH awesome stuff that will be up for auction and didn't realize how much time we really needed to get it together!! Going to work on it more Sunday and hopefully we will be ready ;-)
Mike has a conference in town all week up in Scottsdale.. feeling a little like single parent this week. He is gone before Teagan and Riordan are up and home when we are all in bed. So today we are going to go see daddy!
It should be great to see some old faces from Georgia and meet the new ones that we hear so much about.
Last night was t-ball practice and our friends Dani and Russ took Caden with them and I kept their daughter Carli. Riordan and Carli's first date! (uh oh Megan!) She was missing her mommy and daddy and Riordan was doing everything he could think of to make her happy. Giving her sippee cup to her, trying to hug her and kiss her (which I'm sure Russ would be happy to know she wanted NONE of that ;-), giving her books, toys, food, etc. It was nice to spend time with her though, she is just so cute and so much fun. When she was doing good, she would pace around the room or watch Laura Berkner DVD and eat graham crackers !!
First game is Saturday and we still won't know our time until later today! So weird that this is acceptable for the league to give this info less than 48 hours before the first game! We also will get our team jersey's too, so anxious to know what color we are and pray we aren't white because I bought white letters for names on the back! LOL Dani and Marcie are going to iron them on for me! LIFE SAVERS!!
Tomorrow we have elections for the new board for our MOMS Club. I'm up for president and have no one running against me ;-) What are they thinking this chick from Georgia as their president?!! I'm so thankful that who will be on the board are both amazing and hard workers!! To me it's a group effort to do keep an organization running. Titles are just names at this point.
Softball game for Mike and I tomorrow night.. so again another busy weekend as well!
Our closing on the house is fast approaching! 14 more days! And then the fun begins on what we will do to it ! ETA on moving is last week in July.
So far we are doing shutters for window treatments, replacing the carpet, changing out all the hardware on the doors, and hanging ceiling fans in every single room! Possibly tearing up the tile and putting down hardwood, painting, and replacing appliances. We will see how our budget works out!
Next week is just as busy! My mom comes in for a short visit, which includes for us a softball game, t-ball game, and a birthday party! Along with what the club has going on for events, plus playgroup here at our house. I totally get the whole Calgon commercial now more than ever!
