Please Pray for Caden

Caden is finally undergoing his I.V. Sedation Dentist appointment tomorrow morning at 6:30 for all his dental work.
I didn't want him tramatized for he had two big cavities in the middle of his front teeth and a few in the back. The front is from two falls chipping his teeth and the back ones are a mixture of genes and eating ice at an early age!!
Please pray that it's a quick and successful appointment and pray for a hedge of protection around our little boy.
Thank you so much!

A funny

Oh how I love moments like this.
Caden was saying how he wanted to go home on moving day. I explained to him that we were home, reminding him that we've been talking about it for a long time and how all our things were going to come with us, see look at all the boxes, it has all our toys, clothes, kitchen, etc in them!
He then goes, ' but mommy you forgot the upstairs!'
I wanted to laugh so hard, but he was so serious...
But I did say, no I didn't forget them baby, I didn't want them anymore ;-)
I love living in a one story!! Life is easier this way.
Slowly but surely we are getting unpacked. I finally have full use of the kitchen!

Something is in the air

We are having a heck of a storm tonight. It's so nice because it reminds me of home, summer thunderstorms. The boys are asleep IN THE SAME ROOM!! HOORAYY!! I hope that this becomes even easier, because it was quite hard tonite, either screaming or playing came out of their room for an hour ;-) Oh what memories I have to tuck back.

I'm so thankful for my family and I'm so thankful for my friends.
I have been taking time to reflect on life tonite, listening to the sound of the rain and thunder and the quiet hum (YAY) of my dishwasher, and how it's going for me.
I have to say pretty darn good, God is really blessing our family.
I pray everyday for our safety, happiness, and a good life, our friends and our family, and thankful that we live in America and don't know what it's really like to be hungry, cold, or hot. We are so grateful and it can easily be taken for granted. The little things don't mean a lot, they mean everything.
My boys, well really Caden ;-), pray for each of our friends. Every night we name off the mommies, daddies, brothers and sisters of friends, our aunts, uncles, cousins, grannies, grammys, and papas and pets too of the family prayed for ;-)I really need to record his sweetness and his sincerity.
I may have had a few bumps along the road lately, but I know my heart, God knows my heart, and if you don't know my heart by now then that's your problem (love my Pastor Storms).
I have nothing to prove, but to God himself.
I am a defender of all my friends to the end of time, a listener, a shoulder, a helping hand, a good laugh, a good cry, and I'm blessed to have my friends do the same for me.
Being a good friend means accepting of all faults and protecting each others hearts.
But a good friend never wrongs the other.
And if a good friend has wronged the other it's best to come clean so that relationship can be mended.
Lesson learned and moving on to those who protect me , even though I still protect those in my daily thoughts and prayers who don't protect me. Call me naive, but I can't change who I am and can be only proud to be forgiving.
There is no reward in negativity.

And we are in...

We are in the house.
There are boxes EVERYWHERE!!! The boys had a really hard time adjusting to sleeping in the same room together, and sure that will take a few more days. Teagan had no problems sleeping in her new room, in her new crib (thank you Isabel!)
The guys that moved us were absolutely fantastic. They were so respectful of our loved furniture and fast too! 5 hours total to move us.... Just amazing. Highly recommend them, Legacy Movers... I still can't believe how fast they were in this heat!! I kept handing them waters when they came in and out... Huge water day actually and I still didn't get enough, I have a slight headache and who the heck knows where my tylenol is LOL
We have our T.V.'s hooked up and linked back up to satelitte.
The ONLY thing that went wrong today was Qwest did not come out and turn our phone on.
Oh well, the voicemail system is still working so that's all that really matters.
So tomorrow I will call again since tonite I called past buisness hours...
Also, need to hook my computer up tomorrow (I'm on Mike's laptop) so I can get my email account back up and running..
We have ceiling fans again and it's so nice to feel the cool breeze, and hopefully cut back a lot on the power bill i.e. National Debt.
Mike and Uncle John cleaned the rental and the walk through went great!
Now to clean this place and unpack and keep the children entertained.. Have a lot of stuff missing already, like my adaptor for my elliptical, keys to the blue truck, and where the heck did I put my kids?? ;-)
It's good to be home.

Crackin' on Packin'

Finally! We are really in over drive now, or Mike is ;-)
He is still moving stuff right now.
Tomorrow he doesn't have appointments so we will use it as well as the weekend to move everything over but heavy furniture. We have movers doing that.
Our floors are finally finished, french doors and master bath door went in today. Tomorrow shutters and the door hardware will be finished up.
The house just looks absolutely amazing. I can't wait to be there!

By the way, have I mentioned how FREAKING HOT it is?!
But this is my aha for the day. We hermit during the summer (like we would in Georgia) doing only indoor activities or the pool. Why we did t-ball in this heat...just excited I guess. Anywho back to what I was saying, so yeah 3 months of the year out here just too hot to enjoy the outdoors. However, we can be outdoors for 9 months! My December birthday boys can actually have an outdoor party! Well not this year, we will be on the Polar Express for Riordan's and then at Disney Land for Caden's.
Only problem with staying in doors all the time is I tend to graze the food, so not great for bathing suit season. Just like hibernating actually, trying to stay cool instead of warm.
I can't wait for a one story house because our electric bill is the NATIONAL DEBT!

Happy 4 months Teagie!

I can't believe she's 4 months!
She weighed in at 16.2 pounds today at her well check and is 24 1/2 inches long. Normally at this stage they are supposed to be double their birth weight (8lbs 10 oz) so she's a little under ;-)
She has pink eye and I'm hoping the rest of us don't get it. But other than that she is absolutely perfect! She sits up with little assistance, coos, screeches, belly laughs, grabs EVERYTHING, and can roll up on her side. She has rolled over once but that landed her on the floor, about 6 weeks ago, off the ottoman and I think she's still fearful. Boy did she ever cry!! And all of us cried with her!!
So we practice everyday, hoping to get her courage back up and applauding her everytime we help her. She is such a happy little girl!

Summertime pics

How we've been enjoying the heat! Elmo sprinkler and a little wading pool. Riordan loves to drink the water and Caden loves to run away from it. Cute little fannies!
I am officially 33. I've had the hardest time this past year remembering my age! Good thing or not, 33 is just a number at this point, maybe I will feel different when I hit 35.
Saturday was perfect.
Breakfast in bed and then Caden's t-ball game (only one more to go). There, my girls gave me a gift card to Dolce!! So sweet!!
The rest of the day was leisure. Mike took me to Fleming's that night for a wonderful dinner and I changed it up a bit with my drinks. Instead of my normal wine with dinner I went for flirty girly cocktails and they were YUMMY! My favorite was Coconut Tears.. a mixture of Malibu Rum, pineapple, creme de banana, and some sprite. The glass was a martini dipped in honey and then toasted coconut! I could have eaten it LOL. Mike got me a kitchen aid mixing stand that I have been wanting for 5 years! Can't wait to break it in a the new house ;-)

2 weeks to go!

Mike and I packed up 80% of the kitchen yesterday and then he moved the boxes over already to the new house. And then I cleaned out our only closet that's not in a bedroom.
We have tons of stuff going to our garage sale! We won't be able to have that here since we are moving the 24th and our Saturday's until then are Caden's t-ball games.
We had dinner with our friends the Messners, who just had their third baby, Cashton, and they have a Christan and a Caden, same age as our Caden! We all had so much fun!! All the boys, minus Cashton swam, while Kristi and I hung out and just had quiet time. Both our babies slept!
Sunday was church and it was a hectic slammed day with check-ins. Have I mentioned we volunteer now for the First Impressions team for nursery up to 6th grade? Our church is highly updated with computer check ins for every one and you get a name tag printed out to get into your class and then the parents are issued a code that only is trackable to your child. Never the same code each weekend too. So Sunday evening our church did a dinner for everyone working with the children. It was really nice and they are making some great improvements for the coming year! We really enjoy being involved. We wanted to, but weren't sure how we could with the children. But we were approached with a job!! I think it's funny how it all works out!
Today the hardwoods are supposed to get laid at the house. BUT they still haven't scraped up the glue from the tile, or pulled back the carpet going to the boys room that will get hardwood (entry way) So we will see. Just waiting on a call now to go let them in. Also, looks like our carpet we picked out is going to be back ordered again! So I think we will have to choose another.. Our move date is set in stone so we can't put that off and I don't want to be in and then have to deal with putting in the carpet.

Move date

Is July 24th! Need to get crackin' on packin'!
And it's such a busy weekend! Caden's last game and then team party! I don't know how we are going to do it, but it will be by the Grace of God Almighty! Keep us in your prayers!!!!

FYI

Monsoon = Severe thunderstorm

Sounds more dramatic I think the west coast versions LOL

Something WAS in the air!

We didn't make it for fireworks. All the children are not feeling well, fighting a cough as of yesterday for Teagan and Caden and stuffyness for Riordan since last week. So we said we'd stay home and watch the fireworks.
We watched both Boston and New York, and then it was time for local at 9. Just as the ones for Tempe Town Lake began, lightning began at our house. It was it's own show as if it was trying to show off. Soon after the lightning started then the fireworks at Tumbleweed, we can see it from our window, began. We were so thankful we weren't out and about. You could see smoke coming up from the ground near the house where it was striking! Not good because it's so dry here, desert and all and lack of rain.
Well not for long! No sooner did we shut down the t.v., close the blinds, and close our eyes, then we heard this INTENSE action outside of the house. The wind was whipping around!! The news said a monsoon was coming, we already had flooding in N. Arizona that day, but we didn't believe them because EVERY time they said we were going to get rain, we didn't even get a drop.
We got rain. We GOT A MONSOON! It was so great to hear the rain pounding on the house!! Totally reminescent of thunderstorms, yep we had that too ;-), back home in Georgia.
Caden and I woke up to the gentle sound of rain tapping the window this morning, so we went downstairs on the patio and watched it. He was sooooooo excited to see rain, as was I!!, and he looked up at me and said, " Mommy can I play in it?!"
"Absolutely!!!!", I said.
He was too cute to watch him run around in the veryyyyyyy cold rain and he had so much fun. It's still just a slight drizzle, but the sun will come because it's supposed to be 104 today. The little things, LIKE RAIN, don't mean a lot, they mean EVERYTHING!

Happy 4th of July!

There is something about the fourth of July that gives me flutters in my tummy! Like something in the air!! It's a lot like Christmas. I was curious to know if I'd feel this way since we are on our own for the 4th. John and Amy are in Boston, and our friends are headed off to Cabo tomorrow and most have family in town.
BUT the flutters are still there! I got us steak and corn to grill.
And then I'm going to make brownies so we can have brownie sundaes! And a nice bottle of wine for Mike and I.
Then fireworks are very close at Tumbleweed Park, but I think we will hit the Walmart Parking Lot to watch them and if that won't be close enough, then sit on the side of the road.
I have been talking with Caden about them, and he is willing to try them out, as long as we go swimming at Uncle JohnAmy's house !! LOL
Should we be packing? Of course but how often is daddy home during the week now? Never! He's so busy and so motivated ;-)

July 1st

Unbelievable. Just unbelievable.
Yet again a full week.
Mike was gone for a full three days/nights. His flight was supposed to arrive at 2pm yesterday (leave at 2 Dallas time as well), but a part broke on the plane. So instead of replacing the whole plane they had to wait on a part. He was able though to get put on another airline that didn't depart until 8, which got him in at 8 ish. Well their plane was diverted to Tucson because of bad weather. So they waited on the runway there for a good 45 mins, and then made it into Phoenix. He didn't get home until after 11.
Now yes it was tough without him but we survived and without drama. UNTIL last night.. from 8 until he got home Teagan became extremely fussy and would not go to sleep.. I couldn't do anything to make her happy. Finally about closer to midnight she fell asleep. She still has not woken up and it's 8:39!! Her first time fully sleeping through the night and no feedings!!! I think this thumb sucking definitely has some great side effects ;-)
Thursday was a well check for Riordan. He is now 28 pounds and 34 inches long! He and Caden both got Hep A shots, Caden's being a follow up from December. We go back in October for flu shots. But of course next month for Teagan's four month well visit. I really think we should just start renting a room from them.
Today is delivery day. We get all our new kitchen appliances and then we need to go and pick out a french door to replace our sliding glass door. Hopefully tonite we can make it to Uncle John Aunt Amy's pool for some practice swimming! I have been wanting to get them back in the water since their lessons!
So it's a family weekend with nothing special planned. Fireworks locally for us aren't until the fourth and at 9:30 at night. We may load everyone up and go hit the Walmart Parking lot to watch them. I'm thinking that's close enough but far enough away for Caden. He has been hysterically afraid of them since last year.
Have a safe holiday!
