Yep she slept that long last night. That was after pretty much no sleeping all day long and screaming and crying.
Someone told me 6 weeks is when they go through a screaming stage.. I can't remember if the others did this, but it is so hard.. we are working on a week now. She's fine if she's held or nursing, but can't put her down for a minute without her starting to scream unless she's asleep!!
Today is the 24th, I never got a chance to finish this post! Life is absolutey all about the children right now. When I do get down time I find myself working on Christmas, cleaning, getting out with some friends, or sleep. I'm so behind on my shows, thank God again for TIVO!
So where to begin, I guess from where I was going to post this. Aislinn is finally growing out of her screaming phase. It's not so bad now, just a few times a day instead of what was like all day. She had an allegic reaction that only affected her skin, this past Tuesday, the 20th. My doctor was incredible, calling every 10 mins to see if Benadryl was working and my sister Jennifer called her nurse Cathy and man was it good for me. I have never had a baby skin do that. Caden was our rash boy, but it was always viral, never a reaction to what he ate. So in the end, the allergist that Dr. Sudha consulted with because I took pictures and sent them to her, said to do a blood test for allergies to certain foods. I will know next week when we go in for that. I pray pray pray she's not allergic to peanuts. I have twice in my life had the same reaction. Once after I ate a Ricola cough drop, and then a week later after I ate Oreo cookies and drank a coke. So random and never happened again!
Aislinn and I go to Atlanta on Friday for a super quick visit to see my family. I hear ya'll are getting some much needed rain soon! I would love to see it too! I can't remember the last time it rained here.
It's really really cold today, well for Arizona. It's still in the high 40's and it's after 10 AM. It's so perfect to get us in the spirit for Christmas. We got our tree up yesterday and after 3 hours Mike fixed the lights on it that went out last year when Riordan pulled the tree over. I pray that doesn't happen again this year. Still need to decorate it and the front of the house.
Caden has two birthday parties today. One, for Emily, is at Rawhide, a cool place that is an old Western Theme place with Saloons, Stage Coaches, and such. Then the other one is for a friend from school, Sammy, at his house. Mike is taking Caden to Emily's and I'll take Caden and our friend Caden Messner to Sammy's.
Thanksgiving was a LONG long day but a great one. We drove to Peoria, which is like driving from Acworth to Peachtree City. It took us 2 hours! We left at 7:45, needed to get gas, McD's and right before we got to the interstate realized we left our camera, double back 10 miles to get it, tried to get the boys to go the bathroom and they wouldn't. 20 mins into the drive, they had to go of course. We went to Surprise first, where Mike's parents, Grammy and Papa, were staying. A really nice subdivision and the house is right on the golf course that runs through it. We took our Christmas picture out on the patio with the course in the background. My sister is going to try and Photoshop one of the girls heads, because they didn't cooperate together for a good one. I'm sure this is what is yet to come with them ;-)
We then headed over to Aunt Amy's and Uncle John's. Her immediate family was there as well as a couple they are great friends with here in Chandler. The weather was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the company was wonderful.
We left a little before 2pm, to get home for any naps, cook sweet potatos, to then head to our friend's home, the Tripp Family. We had Thanksgiving with them last year and wanted to do so again this year. Jeff cooked the entire dinner! The food once again was delicious, the kids played together so wonderfully and hanging out with Marcie and Jeff is always the best.
We had a date night last night. Mike and I went to Fleming's SO YUMMY. I had a Bananas Foster Martini. That drink is DANGEROUS it's so yummy! I need to get the mixings for that. What a great drink and fun to drink with friends! I had a filet Oscar styled, delictable! Mike had a strip steak and of course the Chocolate Lava Cake. And I tried an iced coffee drink with adult beverages and it was pretty yummy, but not so much like the martini. And a new favorite Pinot. A to Z from Oregon. It was absolute so smooth! We then headed to our new wine bar here in Chandler and met Marcie and Jeff. And wouldn't you know, they had the same wine on the menu!! So we ordered the last two bottles and a Mossback which is just a super yummy. I'm paying for it a little this morning, but nothing that a sausage egg and cheese biscuit and icy cold coke didn't fix for me !!
So I will post some pictures from Thanksgiving and off Aislinn's allergic reaction.
Hope you had a happy Thanksgiving!
