It's really bad in Aislinn. She has been making me nervous since Thursday. What has helped was that she still wakes up on her own and has been doing what she should be doing for 'movements'. We had a weight check yesterday morning and she has gained 3 oz, so now up to 8 lbs, another good sign. Dr. Sudha sent us for a bilirubin blood count and went ahead and did her second PKU to get it out of the way. That took 30 mins to draw blood from her and boy was she ever mad.
At 6 pm last night we got the results. She's the highest any of the children have ever been at 16.4 . 20 is when it can cause damage to the central nervous system. This whole week I have been putting her in the sunlight as well. But exteme measures would be admitting her to the hospital for phototherapy lights (which I was ready to do yesterday) Arizona is different than Georgia, where in GA they would send a light bassinet to your house and let you do it on your own.
So we go back this morning at 9 for another look see and most likely another blood test. Dr Sudha's orders were to nurse every 2 hours and count pees and poops. Well I didn't even have to wake her up, she was up every 1 1/2 to 2 hours all night. Yeah, feeling like a champ right now ha ha ha. Keep telling myself sleep is underrated right?
I will update ASAP on what the next step is.
On another baby note, please keep my friend Cindy and her baby in your prayers. She's 33 1/2 weeks pregnant and her water broke yesterday morning. She is in the hospital and baby boy Stark is doing great. She can be like this for a few weeks on bedrest. His lungs are not ready for him to come and meet his super family. They will reassess next Friday to see what their next step is as well.
