Mountain Trails

So as you know, I'm training for the Nike's Women 1/2 Marathon in San Francisco and 16 of us, 14 total from Chandler, running are traveling together in October to attend. I can't wait, it's going to be such a great time!

Part of our training every Saturday, we have been doing Mountain runs every 4 weeks. This has been by far the most challenging and greatest reward ever in my running history. This past Saturday we did our mountain near our house, San Tan Mountain. It was a steep up and steep down, then out and back all over again. A total of 5 miles. I have to say it was such a wonderful time through the challenges of the steep mountain and the camaraderie experienced still moves me even a few days later. Our next mountain run is in 4 weeks and will be longer in miles at South Mountain again. I am SO looking forward to it, even with twisting my ankle and slipping come down and getting 'superficial wounds' on my hand from the sharp rocks to catch my landing ;-)
